Cancer Care at Astria Health

The Astria Sunnyside Hospital Cancer Center treats patients from across the state who see one of our two board-certified Hematologist/Oncologists, Dr. Mahakit Inklab and Dr. Amer Khouri. Our Cancer Care program has expanded dramatically over the past 12 months. As a result, there is an even greater need for support from the Wings of Love fund.

  • Did you know? In the past 12 months, our cancer specialists have seen 1,538 patients—48% of whom reside in the Tri-Cities, Benton City, or Prosser. 15% of our patients come from Yakima, Union Gap, Naches, Selah, and Ellensburg. A few are coming from Oregon.
  • Since adding Dr. Khouri at the end of October 2023, the number of patients treated for cancer has increased 36%.
  • Chemotherapy infusions at the Cancer Center have increased 27%.
  • Patients seeking cancer care from as far away as Ellensburg, Goldendale, and Oregon.
