January 18, 2018 – (Yakima, WA) - Dr. Alan Greenwald, a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon at Astria Health Center was re-appointed as a Courtesy Clinical Instructor in the Department of Orthopedics & Sports Medicine at the University of Washington.
A courtesy clinical appointment is made to those who make substantial contributions to the Department of Orthopedics & Sports Medicine through their expertise, interest and motivation to work with the faculty in preparing and assisting with instruction of students in practicum setting.
“I have been involved in training orthopedic residents since finishing training in 1984 in San Francisco CA. I held faculty positions at the Combined Orthopedic Program and UCSF before moving to Washington State. I believe that it is important for new physicians to be given hands on training under direct supervision by graduate physicians. We are responsible for transferring our knowledge and experience for future generations of doctors so that they can practice successful and safe medicine,” said Dr. Greenwald.
Dr. Greenwald has been studying and practicing orthopedic surgery for 40 years. His clinical interests are joint replacement and arthroscopic shoulder surgery. His passion is to provide the highest quality care with state-of- the-art technologies.
Dr. Greenwald practices at Astria Health Center with Dr. Roy Pierson. Their clinic is located in the Medical Office Plaza at 1005 W. Walnut Suite 320, Yakima.
