Yakima, WA (November 5, 2018) - All Astria Health Hospitals (Astria Regional Medical Center, Astria Sunnyside Hospital, and Astria Toppenish Hospital) recently completed their 2018 Community Health Needs Assessments. Based on the assessments, we have transitioned our Urgent Care clinic model to a Primary Care with Walk-In Care model effective November 1. Astria Urgent Care Centers in Union Gap, Yakima, Sunnyside, and Prosser have transitioned to Primary Care with Walk-In Care. Astria Health Centers (Primary Care clinics) in Prosser, Grandview, Sunnyside, Zillah, Union Gap, Yakima and Selah will now all accept Walk-In patients.
In our 2018 Community Health Needs Assessment, residents and healthcare providers in the Yakima Valley ranked the need for additional primary care providers as one of their highest priorities. Many people living and working in the Yakima Valley fail to establish long-term provider relationships and, instead, substitute emergency or urgent care in its place. It is clear that having an established relationship with a family practice provider promotes overall health, prevents and helps manage chronic diseases, and ensures patients receive the right care, at the right time and place.
The Astria Urgent Care Centers located in Union Gap and in Yakima have relocated their services to the Astria Health Center outpatient primary care locations in Ahtanum Ridge, Terrace Heights and on Summitview Avenue in Yakima. The Astria Urgent Care Centers located in Prosser and Sunnyside will continue to serve the community in the same locations, with providers at those sites transitioning from Urgent Care to Primary Care. At the same time, all Astria Health Centers with Primary Care will continue to offer convenience for busy families by opening up Walk-In Care on all hours the health centers are open.
Patients will have the ability to schedule with a provider at the location of their choice, or walk-in to one of the Astria Health Centers in Selah, Yakima, Union Gap, Sunnyside, Grandview, Prosser or Zillah for convenient care. The team members at these sites will assist patients in setting up an appointment and to establish a relationship with a primary care provider.
