Astria Health is pleased to welcome Zachary Tan, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon, to its Astria Health Center at 2705 E Lincoln Avenue in Sunnyside, and the Astria Sunnyside and Astria Toppenish Hospitals. Dr. Tan will begin seeing patients this week.
“Whether it’s a joint replacement or an ACL repair, I’m passionate about serving patients in the Yakima Valley and helping them get back to the activities they love to do,” said Dr. Tan.
Dr. Tan joins Astria Health after working in Michigan and Canada, and offers several years of orthopedic surgery experience. Dr. Tan and his team provide services to diagnose and treat common, chronic and complex injuries. His services include but are not limited to joint replacement, sports medicine treatment, orthopedic trauma and fracture treatment, ACL reconstruction, and shoulder and elbow instability surgery. He is fluent in English and Mandarin.
Dr. Tan received his Doctor of Medicine degree with special training in research from the University of Alberta – Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery in the Department of Surgery, Division of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Tan completed his fellowship in spine and trauma at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center, St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital – Department of Surgery, Division of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Dr. Tan is committed to medical research and has written and published several articles on orthopedic medicine topics. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He is a member of the American Association for Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Orthopedic Trauma Association, and the Ontario Medical Association.
