As the concern regarding COVID-19, formerly known as the Novel Coronavirus, continues to unfold, Astria Health is actively engaged in bidirectional, collaborative efforts with the Yakima County Health District as well as adhering to guidance provided by the Yakima County Health District and Washington State Department of Health guidelines to ensure safe care for patients and our communities. Decision making surrounding the testing of patients with suspected cases of COVID-19 is influenced through the incorporation of guidance provided by our local health district and Washington State Department of Health, to ensure appropriate precautions are taken.
For any patients with at-risk history or symptoms consistent with COVID-19, the Yakima Health District is contacted. These cases are individually discussed real time with the involved physician and clinical team. Based on guidance and recommendations, additional screening or testing follows.
We advise good handwashing practices and to avoid touching your nose, eyes, and mouth. If you or someone you know has any concerns, contact your Primary Care Physician. If it is an emergent situation, call 9-1-1. We ask that you please make your doctor’s office, EMS and the Emergency Department aware of your concerns and condition that may align with COVID-19, to ensure appropriate safety measures are taken for you and your family.
