Astria Health has two Emergency Departments centrally located in the Yakima Valley; at Astria Sunnyside Hospital and Astria Toppenish Hospital. Physicians, registered nurses, and specialist staff are available at these locations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If there is a medical emergency in your home, your first call should be to 911.
Each Astria Health hospital's Emergency Department sees thousands of patients every year. We provide efficient, prompt, and compassionate care for all patients. Patients who come into the Emergency Department for care are promptly screened by a registered nurse to determine the level of care that is needed. The most seriously ill or injured will be triaged and move ahead of others if other patients have non-life-threatening conditions.
Astria Sunnyside Hospital is a Level I Cardiac Trauma facility. Every day, 24 hours a day, Astria Sunnyside Hospital’s ER doctors, nurses and other health care professionals are available to provide you and your loved ones with expert care. Our highly trained staff can provide care for everything from cuts and broken bones to life-threatening conditions such as heart attack or stroke. There are two rooms set aside to treat patients suspected of cardiac problems. The Astria Sunnyside Hospital Emergency Department and Cath Lab staff have also been trained specifically for patients experiencing a heart attack or stroke. Astria Sunnyside Hospital and Astria Toppenish Hospital have Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) available to help victims of sexual assault. SANE nurses receive special training that helps them deal with the emotional and physical needs of a patient who has been sexually assaulted.
Please bring your insurance information with you when you come to any of the Astria Health Hospital Emergency Departments. While no one is ever denied care, we want to do everything we can to quickly assure you that your insurance coverage is in place.
The providers in our Astria Sunnyside Hospital and Astria Toppenish Hospital Emergency Departments are contract employees of a company called Envision. You should know that you will receive a separate bill from Envision as part of every ER visit.
