Biography
Dr. David Shoemaker is Board Certified in Radiology and Vascular Interventional Radiology. He has extensive training and clinical expertise to provide treatment in all areas of vascular interventional radiology. From diagnosis to treatment and ongoing care, Dr. Shoemaker and his team are able to maximize patient outcomes.
In addition, Dr. Shoemaker now offers an innovative approach to treating cancerous tumors with Percutaneous Cryoablation or CRYOtherapy. CRYOtherapy is a minimally invasive image-guided treatment that destroys (ablates) tumors and other targeted tissue with extreme cold, while sparing surrounding healthy tissue. This new treatment avoids the need for invasive surgery and is a naturally more comfortable and convenient alternative to heat-based ablation methods of surgery. Typically, patients spend only one night in the hospital or may even go home the same day. There are many advantages to its use.
Dr. Shoemaker treats patients for health concerns including:
- Chemotherapy port placement for cancer treatment
- Oncology tumor microwave ablation and cryoablation
- CT and ultrasound-guided biopsies
- Image directed biopsy, drainage, aspiration, and ablation
- Percutaneous Cryoablation (CRYOtherapy)
- Dialysis vascular access placement and management
- Vascular disease diagnosis and treatment
- Vascular angioplasty, atherectomy, and drug-eluting stent placements.
- Varicose vein treatment
